I have a colleague who is married who confided in me that he has developed a strong desire for redheaded men, and no other types. He still loves his wife and is otherwise straight, but has told me that since his late twenties, redheaded guys really turn him on. Not that I blame him!

I doubt as to whether they have spontaneously formed new desires, it would be more realistic to say they have always slightly had a different side.

Wow, I suppose its possible. You know, people of faith say through Jesus anything is possible. Well, here you go, a perfect example.

Odd about red heads. Yahoo just had on its front page an article about how Neanderthals passed on the red haired gene and light skin pigment gene to the human population of Europe way back. That explains why some red headed girls have a stocky body shape and a face like Miss Piggy.

I used to hate broccoli and most vegetables. It turns out that mom was a terrible cook.

This is the same mechanism that happens during adolescence. We sometimes jump to different conclusions and take our hint of an experience as a rule for our life. An adolescent gets a surge of hormones, it was something that was about to happen anyway, but the next thing he sees is another guy in the locker room or whatever. Then opportunistic homsexual recruiters badger him with "see, that proves you are one of us" incessently until a specious reputation is developed.

Your adult friend has turned a set of admiration observations into an erotic trigger for him. Humans use what is between their ears to think, and sometimes we think things we didn't used to think. Today I think broccoli is tasty, it was something I learned as an adult. I still haven't learned to dance. Your friend learned something that excites or he imagines pleasures him, something different.

Possible? Entirely. Still it is not the full social norm, so don't go advertising it socially, okay? That is something for him to decide on.

No!

No more possible than it is to be gay and suddenly discover you have a straight side.

It's possible to be bi and never found someone of the same sex attractive enough to want to get it on with them.

But if he were truly straight the whole concept of doing the wild thing with the same sex would be totally repugnant to him.

i was like that. I never even thought about sex with a woman until I was in my late 20's. I was in a hetro marriage and had a baby. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I was confused, but figured "why not?" Been living the dream now for six years.

By now, you should probably know that anything in life is possible at anytime, anywhere and anyplace. Nothing shocks me anymore. Watching the news for a mere week does that to you!

why only red heads? who knows. can you describe at which point you actually decided that you liked cheeseburgers? And why only cheeseburgers, why not brusslesprout burgers?

Anything is possible... are you a red head? perhaps he was flattering you.

He was never straight. He's been bi but understood his true feelings late in life.
