Or even the top 250 would be OK.

Refer to the totally free links, below, which may not necessarily have anything to do with the UK, but they list themselves as "Top UK Sites". Although you mentioned "directors", you didn't specify what kinds of websites you were looking for (business? personal? religious? sports?), so these links have a little bit of everything.
