Wow...there's a question to make you think about stuff!

Okay, about 13 - 14 billion years ago, there was an incredible expansion of space and matter from a single point. That moment is now called the Big Bang. Astrophysicists have pinpointed the sequence of events following the Big Bang down to the tiniest fraction of a second after it happened, but as of yet, nobody's quite sure what happened immediately BEFORE the Big Bang (or even if there WAS a before). In the current way of thinking, all of space and time in this Universe was created at that one moment. Where did it all come from? There are lots of ideas, but a relatively new idea that I find fascinating has to do with "membranes". Membranes are sort of like sheets floating in 11-dimensional space. Its possible that when these membranes collide, the energy of the collision causes new Universes to form. Each new Universe is bound by its own set of physical laws, so it's possible that there are literally infinite other, parallel Universes, and that none of them particularly resembles our own. If that's the case, then space has been formed not just once, but an infinite number of times.

When the big bang, the explosion which scientists believe happened about 15 million years ago creating our space.
Matter, energy, space and time are all thought to have been created in a fraction of a second 15 billion years ago.
We know that after the big bang the universe began to heat and to expand and then to be cool. After that atoms, gases and many other things began to exist in the universe.Space is something which is like a long way consisting of many things which are discovered and not discovered yet.

What substance exists in the volume of the Universe is called by science "Space".It is basically a structure meant to contain all celestial bodies in the Universe.
It was the basic ingredients of all mass structures.Just like the air bubles and water are the ingredient of a loaf of wheat bread.
The world of physics have not been able to decipher the composition and structure of Space.
However, we do know where it came from. The Answer to that is outlined in the first Chapter of the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible.

Space is the absence of matter. As matter can be converted to energy, and vice versa, then the sum of all matter and energy have always been there, and always will be.

The universe as we know it began with the big bang. It will end when it ceases to expand and collapes on itself forming another big bang. That next universe will expand, contract, bang, etc.

This has been going on forever, and will go on forever. Time is infinite.

It just is.....

Space as we know it came from a explosive reaction of gas and dust particles.

There is also a parallel universe theory.
