Yes and if we didn't have a 3 day waiting period before picking up a firearm I would probably have shot my ex for having me committed. He swore that I was going to kill myself so the police picked me up and took me to a local hospital where I was committed for three days. I will never forgive him for this. He only wanted me out of the way because he was afraid I was going to interfere with his plans for that weekend with his g/f. We had been married for 22 years and he had left me for her because she was pregnant. Nobody ever thinks about what happens to you once you are committed. I was NOT suicidal but I was locked up like common criminal and my civil rights were taken away from me--they not only took my cell phone, my only communication to the outside world, but also my shampoo--under the assumption that I would drink it in order to kill myself! And I was in that place with a sure enough bunch of lunies. We had to attend these classes and if we refused it would be charted that we were non-compliant and could be kept for even longer than that three day period of time--and one of my first classes was to be given a coloring book and told to color. When I protested I was threatened with this thing to keep me longer. I was carried out of my home by four cops who were "taking me into protective custody." Yeah. Believe me, once experienced, it's something you will NEVER forget.
