The purpose of the surge was to gain control of Baghdad so the Iraqi political process could gain momentum. Baghdad is not controlled, political process is still stagnate. I'd say the surge has had some very limited, and regional success simply because of the mass of troops we have saturated areas with. Overall I think most of our own generals would agree that the surge has not been a 'success' in the terms that were defined prior.

You are wasting your time with this question. Partisan politics is killing this country. I cannot understand why the extremes in this country seem to dictate.
Look at these answers. You'll never convince these people. They are staunch in their beliefs no matter what happens.

Result = SURGE NOT WORKING.

He will still say it is failing. he doesnt need to go by reality because that isnt what his base wants to hear. Too bad he isnt up for reelection this year because his polling numbers are in the pot back home.
