Definitely ..passing gas.
A burp is a short term embarassment to the individual responsible
Passing gas has too many potentially lingering, noxious, after effects on all those around you.

If a person has just eaten something strong tasting definatly a burp, my husband burped last night after eating chilli sauce and I very almost threw up, a fart has never done that and lets face it farts are funny.

Burp's I can live with. I think farts gross me out more. Especially if they're 'paint-peelers'!
