She is a teacher in Oregon...licensed to carry a concealed handgun. The Oregon Constitution bans restriction of the 2nd amendment, but the school district has a 'no gun' policy.
She feels that her life is threatened by an ex-husband...
I would feel safer knowing that [possibly] some teachers could protect me from more than ignorance. I think the parents of those children at that Amish school might agree.
School teachers in Israel are often armed to protect the kids.
Police assigned to a school for protection of the students is also a good idea.

I'm gonna get thumbs down for this for sure, but the teacher in question wasn't just "bringing" a gun to class... She is licensed to carry a concealed weapon and has EVERY right to do so as the constitution allows... she was not flashing it about, was not sharing with her students, but did so in a manner that still kept her students safe while maintaining her own protection. There are MANY americans licensed to carry concealed weapons and MOST you would be surprised to see. when someone gets licensed to carry firearms, there is training involved and background checks etc. It's not like on her way to work she stopped at starbucks to grab her coffe, dropped by the pawn shop to buy a loaded revolver, dropped off her dry cleaning... COME ON! I mean seriously, what would have happened in the school shootings if some of those teachers had been armed and could protect themselves and their students.... I'm for it AND am a mom!

And by the way, the Some teach in some state - her name is Shirley Katz and she's in Oregon.

Absolutely NOT. Teachers put their pants on the same way we do, they drink, they swear, they have bad habits too. What gives them the right to bring guns to class? Parents need to start doing their jobs at home and kids won't be so unruley.

Well it worked years ago kids would bring their shotguns to school and go hunting after class. But these days its dangerous kids have no respect they are unguly they hate authority and are just plain mean to almost sadistic levels.

yes it is happening here in Oregon,.....the teacher, according to the Oregon Constitution, has the right to carry,.....the school Dist. (Medford Oregon),.....is trying to impose a law on to the teacher , a law that they do not have the right or power to impose,.....on this one the State Constitution gives the teacher the right,.....if the people here in Oregon don't like it,.....it is up to them to get their elected Officials to change the Oregon Constitution,.....

No I don't think so. There should be no gun at school.
At school, children should learn education, how to express different opinion using language, and to respect others.
(Not to use a gun)

Hell no. Don't we already have enough violence and deaths in our schools without allowing the little cretins to carry weapons to school? Good god. What a thought.
