Thankfully I haven't yet though my neighbor's daughter's been home twice now. I hate school season because the germs run rampant.

How many Vermonter's are in schools now that are fighting have your child provide a doctor's note now when they stay home when sick? Two years ago, my son (chronic ear infections since babyhood) missed ten days by March due to a stomach bug, ear infections and general nasties that lurk. I got a letter from the "school attendance committee" telling me that he'd missed too much school and that if he missed any more time without a doctor's note they would be reporting me to the state. I'd never heard of such a thing for 10 days. I called the state myself and learned it was a bunch of baloney - that the state law for deliquency is 21 days. So I called the school on it and they said that they are now working hard to ensure parents are only keeping their child home if the child is really sick with a fever of 101 or higher in order to prepare them for high school. I still find that ludicrous.

She's been home for the week, I never know when to send her back. Is it when she feels better? or when she won't make anyone else sick? Oh well, back to the grind Monday for her regardless.
