Republicans are primarily funded by and supported by America's military, industrial complex. They must have conflict of some kind, preferably armed conflict, to make money. Peace is bad for business. If they don't have a war, they'll start one.

And Reagen didn't end the cold war, he was just lucky enough to be in the White House when the Soviet economy collapsed in on itself. Communism may sound good one paper but in reality is an extremely inefficient way to run an economy, totally unsustainable. The Soviet Union was doomed to fail from the beginning, it was just a matter of time.

After the cold war our foreign policy was essentially like a doughnut. There was nothing to fill it. Then came terror and we found a way to take what we did during the cold war and apply it to terror (whether that is good or bad is a whole different thing). Now I get the feeling people are like we one the cold war once, we can do it again.

The chilly conflict became greater often than not fought by utilising using propaganda. Even immediately the very comparable propaganda that became disseminated then remains broadly usual as being genuine, whilst in certainty maximum of it relatively is fake. Take Wiki for occasion, it is one website the place maximum individuals shrink-and-paste their solutions from, with out ever doing any extra study. They then bypass this information as "valid" solutions to questions with regards to the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, the chilly conflict, the Vietnam conflict, etc., whilst in certainty it includes errors, 0.5-truths, and planned disinformation. to discover greater precise information on the chilly conflict, I recommend you seem previous Yahoo! solutions (and the solutions from the "extraordinary contributors") and discover the countless many books that have been written on the themes particularly. be careful, and good luck, pupil.

Fighting fake wars is how you get votes when you only represent the top 2% of the American aristocracy. You have to pick up at least 48% somehwhere else. People won't vote against their interests totally, and not everyone can be brainwashed by right-wing radio, and right-wing TV. so, they use "fear." Fear of Islam. Fear of Gays. Fear of Abortions. Fear of the Other. (What ever the other-du-jour is)

I am a conservative. The US is involved in two hot wars, Iraq and Afghanistan. I do not see how a political party can fight a cold war against an enemy that no longer exists. I think I smell a liberal here.
