One correction...each of those places has important religious value...

Use has not have because your pronoun antecedent is EACH not places. Since each is singular, you need the singular verb HAS.

You use "them" too much. To what does "them" refer, the houses of worship, or to the people who worship there? Think about that in re-reading and re-writing. Look at the sentence in question. "The Old-New Synagogue is just one of them..." You need to replace "them" with a specific noun.

The Old-New Synagogue is just one of them, but all it takes is one building to show the value the faithful place on a proper place to worship their god.
