Yes, Drano is bad and I don't recommend using. If you don't mind getting hands "dirty" for what $$ that a plumber or handyman would charge for a service call, you could visit Home Depot, Lowes or a local hardware store and buy all the tools (pipe wrench, long handle pliers, pipe joint putty to reseal? (ask for help in plumbing and tell them what you would like to do) and maybe teflon tape. The blockage in the kitchen sink is normal bec of grease & other ____ you let flow down the drain which got stuck in the bottom of the U bend portion of the pipes under your sink. By the way you will also need FLAT PAN to stick beneath pipes to catch all the stinky **** that comes out when you use pipe wrench to twist off and note that normal pliers don't open wide enough so pipe wrench can be rather expensive but don't buy expensive brand. After you take off U bend joint, you normally wipe out junk & garbage stuck into trasj can and quickly dispose bec odor is terrible. Then the tricky part is reassembly with pipe joint and teflon tape and TESTING/RUNNING WATER to test whether you tighten put back together bec if leaking water, you need to try again & again but just take time bec fairly simple everyday DIY job. Save & store the pipe wrench and long handled pliers bec same type of job is common in bathroom sink at this same U bend spot under sink where hair falling off comb and brush will down the drain and accumulate causing blockage where water in sink does not drain fast etc.

Best of Luck and Hope the Above Info Helps! It's not that difficult and a real money saver if your're a homeowner so unless calling plumber or handyman for something you have been putting off, I recommend you visiting Home Depot/Lowes or maybe public library first bec what I attempted to describe you will find in home maintenance or plumbing books in your local library...

As above, u need to look deeper. But you will not be able to use a snake from the top of the sink. there are mandatory pipe fittings beneath the sink called a "trap". it curves down and back up to form a "U" shape and that holds enough water in the bottom of the U to not allow sewer gas to come back into your living space. Even if yyou can get the snake past the upper drain, it will not manuver through this "U" easily. Plus, there is a good chance that your clog is in the U itself. (it is called a "trap") It is very, very easy to remove the trap, there is a large "nut" on either side of it. a large pair of pliers or pipe wrench will turn them, but remember, there is a small amout of water in it, so put a pot or towel under it when u are working on it. Pull it off and check to see if it is clogged. U'll be suprised what u find. Bathroom "traps" almost always have earrings, rings ... in them. (this is also what u do to retrieve a lost ring dropped down the drain).
If the trap is not clogged, then use the snake run through the piping, now that u have a straight shot. Also, u may look at renting a small snake from any tool rental business. You need a small one, the larger ones are for large main sanitary pipes, like for toilets ....
Sounds worse than it is, it's mostly just getting down there and getting started. If your trap is old and rusty, it may need replacing w/ a very, very inexpensive new plastic one. the new ones don't even require wrenches, they hand tighten and loosen.

Paleeze! I thought everyone Knew not to pour grease down the drain. And the old saying is to use cold water. Your sister did not clog the drain by her self . You are the main one. A plunger may help, but you really have to get physical with it. Also sometimes filling sink to the top and pulling plug will do it. Also various drain cleaners. Plumbers are very expensive. So from now on get a metal can like a big coffee can and pour you grease leavings their. After full leave on neighbors door step, or you could add lye to it and make SOAP. If you are lucky you will be clogged at the trap under the sink. Remove it and clean. But you may also have restricted the drain pipe all the way to the main sewer. Then its PLUMBER TIME> Good luck

My plumber charges $40 to auger my drains. I have to do this twice a year because of a tree that tries to feed from the line. The Drano and acids are destroying your sink and pipes. Stop wasting the money and call the plumber!!!

You should have stopped after he second bottle. There's more then meets the eye here, maybe a root or two. You'll have to either run, or hire, a plumber to run a snake down the line with an auger on it to clean it out.

If you have your own septic system there is a chance that your main septic pipe is broken under ground. It happened to me. You really need to have a plumber snake you line. That's the only way to find out what's wrong.

Jani. You better call your plumber. You probably paid more
for the 10 bottles, than you would have, for the plumber. And
since now that, you have used toxic chemicals in your sink.
He will charge you more, cecause of the chemicals. <}:-})
