I say first to 24 wins. Agree or Disagree? Why?
I think the Skins'll continue with the no-blitz D to minimize Brady's danger level... obviously there's no stopping the Golden Boy, he's just too good. but if they can cut his efficiency... Don't wanna jinx my team lol. It won't matter that the skins don't worry mcuh about their run D, since NE can't run the ball at all anyway. If Campbell finally finds a WR for a TD or 2, that, in combination with the Skins lights out D, could make the difference.
all that said, my pick is still Pats 31, Skins 17.

thanks for the thoughtful answers... I don't think we'll win it (read my pick-- Pats by 14) but we have a better chance than anyone else in the first 8 weeks. Indy is the only team that really poses a threat, since NE might go on autopilot in the last 2 weeks, but at that point, they arent' hurt by losses.
then again, Belichick might go for a couple of Eff you wins.

I'd take the Pats.
I'd start taking some notes off the Tennesse Titans versus Indianapolis Colts game and asking some advice from Jeff Fishers if I was the Redskins coach. Yes, Tennessee still lost, but Jeff Fisher does an awesome job of working on a low scoring game and keeping it close. That's what Washington needs to do if they want a chance at winning.
Force New England to throw short passes and run the ball. Don't allow long bomb throws. That's what's been killing every team that plays New England this year. New England is a little weak on the run. Also rush the passer and force Brady to throw the ball much sooner than he would like. For the most part he has been getting all the time in the world he wants to throw the ball and has not been under pressure. The few times he's even been under a little pressure he has fumbled, thrown interceptions, missed passes, and thrown away the ball.
The idea is to keep the score low. Washington has a great defense and they need to use that to their advantage.
On offense, run the ball. New England in the Dallas game proved to be weak against the run. Washington has Antwan Randel El. Use him to as much of an advantage as you can. Use primarily a running offense to eat up the clock and keep moving the chains, keeping Brady off the field for as long as possible, giving your defense more time to rest while making New England's defense tire out, possibly allowing the ability to throw the ball more by the end of the game, taking advantage of New Englands slightly tired defense.
Washington doesn't have high scoring games, so you have to play a game that helps make the odds a little better of your low score possibly winning the game. That means eating up the clock on offense and making New England eat up the clock with every drive.

Pats are to cocky and the Skins D really is THAT good. That is a bad combination for the Pats success. This weekend the Skins will STOP Brady and his boys cold dead in their tracks. The Skins got a wake up call last weekend by barely squeezing that win out against Arizona. Rest assured Joe Gibbs is also THAT good of a coach and he will adapt and take into account the mistakes of last weekend and not make them again. I call 35-17 Skins win.

I'm taking the Redskins.....
Look for some game changing hits fron Sean Taylor, and Landry to shake up the Pats WR core. Remember what Taylor did to T.O. last season and the season b4.
The last time Brady faced the Skins, the Pats lost 20-17, and Brady threw 3ints.
Pressure is the key. Brady can't hit his WRs if he can't find'em.......
24-14 Skins!

I like both teams but the Redsins havea good defense but no offense. If Campbell could hit some of receivers, especially Santana Moss, who needs a good game, possibbly the Skins have a chance but if the defense doesn't get to Brady, who knows what will happen. I hope for a close game either way.

Redskins play a lot of tampa 2 like defenses, and I think your right that they probably wont change that up too much. I think thats good news for new england, because they will get to see it done by a talented defense before going into indy so that exposure to it helps.
I think your right, depending on Maroney's status. The patriots other than the dolphins game have been pretty effective running the ball this year it just hasn't been their primary game plan. I dont think that will change this week.
Pats win, I couldn't really predict a score.

I believe this will be the Pats first "true" contest, and that they will lose by at least a touchdown.

First of all i hate the pats cause they're so damn good but It is so halarious to here all you redskins fans on sports radio and all over the place really think that you have a chance to win this sunday. it's nice that you have the faith but the reason your defense is ranked that high is because yall played a bunch of mickey mouse teams with the exception of the packers. but anyway i'm not going to break down this game by stats i'm just gonna have fun watching them go down. Lol!
