Gorgeous. Normally I try to avoid a first name beginning or ending with the same sound as the last name, but Amelia Atkinson really doesn't seem that problematic.

I'd definitely give her a middle name, however. Not only will it break up the A sounds in the full name, but it can actually be quite a hassle NOT to have one. Certain official or government forms require at least a middle initial, so it can become an issue if you have none to put. From personal experience, every person I know that was never given a middle name has either opted to legally add one -- which can be a bit of a hassle -- or adopted their maiden name or mother's maiden name (depending on gender and marital status) to use in that spot. Just so they have SOMETHING to put there, know what I mean?

And really, why not take the opportunity to honor someone close to you or simply give your daughter one more name you happen to love? Nothing wrong with that! :)

Ps. If you do find the A sounds to be a bit of an issue, you could also consider Emilia Atkinson or Amelie Atkinson. The former slightly sidesteps the first A sound (though they still sound nearly identical), but helps a great deal visually. And the latter avoids the back-to-back A sounds, thanks to the substituted "LEE" ending. ;) Hope that helps!

I love the name Amelia; it's my sister's name! It's unusual in her age group, but it's very pretty.

I would definitely go with a middle name. It can be a pain to not have one when you fill out legal forms and stuff like that.

My sister's full name is Amelia Margaret, which is old-fashioned sounding, but I like it. I like the way the "M" and "A" are in both names. It makes them flow well, even if they are long names. Amelia Margaret Atkinson sounds really nice to me. Amelia and Margaret flow well, and the "T" in Margaret and Atkinson make them sound nice back to back too.

Some other middle name ideas:

Amelia Scarlett
Amelia Zoe
Amelia Danielle
Amelia Jane
Amelia Joy
Amelia Grace
Amelia Louisa
Amelia April
Amelia Angelique

The name is nice but then I think you should add a middle name. Maybe name her Amelia Jane Atkinson. That sounds like a princess and somehow poetic to me. Fantastic.

Alliterative names are horrible.... I like the name Amelia but not with Atkinson. People always think alliterative names are so "Hollywood" when in fact they just sound cheesy.

I like amelia, we have it as a middle name though( Genevieve Amelia). I think that it does need a middle name though, maybe, Amelia Delaney Atkinson, thats adorable, and has a good sound to it, or Amelia Avery Atkinson, I know its all a's but its cute and again, sounds good, its not a tounge twister or anything. Good Luck

nice name -as for a middle name you could go A crazy - amelia anne atkinson
or break it up -
Ameila Jean Atkinson
but i'd keep a middle name to one syllable -as Amelia Penelope Atkinson is a lot to yell at her when she really does something to tick you off. (remember -the true function of a middle name is an indicator for a child of how much trouble they're in!) ;o)
