Good morning to all..hope everyone is well..Here in N.Y winter is approaching the cold weather is settling our way so if you live where it SNOWS..Do you or dont you put chains on your car wheels so that you have better traction and if not why dont you use the car chains on your wheels??? Is it really that much better with them on? This is the first year i have my Infinity and EVERYONE is telling me to do it...

I used to live where it snowed. I had snow tires, the only time I used chains was going up the mountain when they forced you to put chains on. You get far better traction with chains and that means you'll be safer. You may as well invest in some while they're still on the store shelves. Never hurts to have them in the trunk of your car just in case.

I live in VA...it doesn't snow as much as in NY but when it used to snow all the time we used to put the chains on our wheels...it does work, its just loud. My advice to you, if you don't have any experience driving in the snow, learn in a parking lot because it is easy to lose control of your car if you don't know what you are doing...Good luck!

No, I dont. Never have and I live in Michigan. My current car is All-Wheel Drive so there is no need for it in reality. The only ones I know who do chain their tires are ones who live in the mountains.

They're illegal in a lot of places now, because they tear up the road. Get some good snow tires.

well i don't have that problem here we are lucky if we get snow once ever 3 or 4 years. enjoy it i wish i could experience it for a day.

Is your car an old type my dear? Chains on cars are not much popular these days.
