I say it to other people. I kinda do get agitated if someone doesn't say it to me, its become kinda a common courtesy thing.
I think the reason it was said started a long time ago when people believed that sneezing was a way of getting rid of bad spirits and so the said God bless you after words.

We say God Bless You when you sneeze because some people believe that your heart skips a beat. I do say God Bless You when someone sneezes, because I think it is a habit. I dont get mad when someone doesnt say God Bless You, but I wish they would.

The custom of people saying "God bless you" after anyone sneezed began as a blessing . In (540-604) and during the time of the plaque Pope Gregory use the Chant " God bless you" for unceasing prayer seeking God's help. People use it too for people who sneezed in the hope that they would not develop the plague.
I think its nice when people say it.

I say it because its respectful, but i dont get mad at people who dont say it. Its because along time ago when people used to get really sick, a sideaffect of this sickness would be sneezing. Therefore, when people sneeze they would say "god bless you", and it kinda carried on through all this time.

It has to do with the Plague. Because it killed so many people, it but the fear of the devil in them. The moment someone sneezed they believed they might be getting sick so they would say "God bless you" hoping to save the person with a mini prayer.

It originated back when folks thought your soul was escaping during a sneeze, so they gave a blessing 'for good luck'.
I say it, and I say "Salute" and "Gesundheit".
I don't get mad, lack of manners/thoughtfulness toward others is rampant, I don't take it personally.

I do say it and i say thanks you after someone says it to me. It means that one sneeze can kill you ,it can take your breath away and by saying god bless you ,it means he is watching over you.

I've heard everthing from "it keeps the devil from getting inside of you to It's a small prayer said to insure that your heart stats pumping again". I do say it because I'm from the south and I think it's mostly a courtesy thing.
