It just shows how insular the Americans are when it comes to outside of their own state let alone country.
Remember when American invaded Iraq. Many Americans did not know where it was or what sort of country it was.
Sorry to sound as if I am criticising all Americans here, but they are very very ignorant of world affairs and facts.

Not all Americans are stupid, however, that remark makes me think of a Simpsons episode where Homer says "English! When are we ever going to England?" No, ignorance is no respecter of nationality. But the school systems are largely to blame for "dumbing down" any material. There's also a stigma that athletes, particularly (American)football players aren't exactly rocket scientists. I've known some very clever well-informed people from the United States, Britain, Europe, Asia, Australia and my own native Canada, however I've known more ignorance than ever before existing in these same parts of the world.

Well, according to popular stereotypes all athletes are dumb and Americans don't do sarcasm or irony either. Which is ironic seeing as the British are supposedly famous for both yet they failed to notice the sarcasm from a guy who still gained a college dregree and can memorise his playbook.
It only takes one brief sarcastic comment to someone like AP and it snowballs. Take it with a pinch of salt.

i admire this bit the final: "i be attentive to (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a soccer camp mutually. So i be attentive to him. "it somewhat is the closest component i be attentive to to London. he's black, so i'm beneficial he's not from London. i'm beneficial that's a coincidental call." Its great. He works out the call "London" is largely a accident by using fact the guy is black. (so if he became into white, he'd assume he became into from London?) so he's have been given to the nicely suited answer (that the adult men call and the city are a accident) yet on some a million/2 baked concept that there are no black people in London and that basically white people who call their infant London are quite from London. you may desire to not make issues like that up. Monty Python could desire to have have been given this guy writing sketches for them.

Now, THAT'S RICH !!! I had a friend born and raised in Arizona, degree from Arizona State University, we visited Chicago on business , he commented as we were getting ready to land as the plane flew over Lake Michigan, "Wow. I had no idea the Atlantic Ocean was that close to Arizona ." True story, I thought he was kidding, he was serious. He'll never live it down.

No I'm sorry but I don't think it's particularly clever or humorous to make fun of people just because they are less intelligent.I bet he's making a fair few dollars despite not being too bright and fair play to him.

This snippet of information merely re-inforces the stereo-typical opinion 'we' have of Americans - who are apparently arrogant and ignorant of anything and anyone beyond their own boundaries.
