Non-Catholics have to pay higher tuition rates. Religious instruction in the Catholic form of Christianity is a required part of the curriculum. All students will be required to attend Mass, although non-Catholic students do not receive Communion. Having said all that, if the public schools are as bad where you are as they are where I live, it may still be your best alternative.

I would recommend a private school for the education, not the religion.
Generally, although religion may be taught, know that it won't be practiced by all the kids/parents there, even if they say they are Catholic.
All I'm trying to say is, go to Catholic school, but don't be scandalized if you see a bad example of Catholic kids there.

Usually you don't have to be, but you'll have to take religion classes as part of the curriculum.
I went to Catholic school and a few of my classmates weren't Catholic. They never seemed to have much a problem, and most of us were usually interested in hearing about the differences and similarities between our religions.
It's a great lesson in tolerance right from the very beginning.

Catholic school means learning the Catholic doctrine. The school has a foundation for teaching people of like mindedness. You would eventually become as one of them though you may only want certain educational tools. The years will pass before you make your decision about the first inquire and that will be changed. You enter into a history when you enter a school. You enter and are lost. and your only way out, would be as one of them, unless you know the structure , do not enter it's doors, unless you are certain of what you can save. This goes for any religious school of thought. Do the history research first. and, please do tell us of your journey through to the end.
