Women are always talking about how child birth is so amazing and how men could never handle it and how it shows the 'strength' of women.

I say baloney... child birth is nothing special. Its as normal as breathing and eating. Its not amazing and its not special in any way. Every animal in the world reproduces one way or another.

Why do women want special credit for something their body is biologically DESIGNED to do? Its not like it shows some kind of individual strength.

Why are women so obsessed with looking as strong as men?

2007-10-26 01:51:53 · update #1

If a man can take getting his leg ripped off in a war.. the pain of child birth is not significant. I'm sure men would handle it better with less whining and complaining than women.

Its not special because it happens all the time. It would have ot be unusual to be special.

A man would not DIE from the pain of child birth. Pain cannot kill you.

Brad, you are wrong about your last comment. Pain can kill you -you go into shock and die.

But I have also heard way too many women cry about how hard it was to have a baby and how much it hurt. I have always said that some women complain far too much about it -like they were the first one on earth who had to endure it. And the kicker of it all is that every woman I have ever heard speak that way had an epideral (sp?), so as far as I am concerned they don't really have a right to complain about the pain since they were numb to most of it.

As for you saying that women think they have to be as strong as men. You are wrong again. Women need to be strong. Period. Men need to be strong. Period.

It's baloney?

Your body may be designed for CREATING the child and such, which is amazing in on itself, but giving birth is one of the most painful things a woman will ever experience. Men may be physically stronger then women, but pain tolerance is another story. Maybe you should ask your mom about child birth and see if she thinks it's "nothing special", and it's also not at all close to breathing and eating, and I'm sorry for you that you have that much ignorance.

So what with due respect to myself, I've given birth five times. The only thing I wish upon a man is to feel that flesh upon flesh as the child passes through. Oh cares about the pain, who cares about how strong someone is to give childbirth; it's a stupid argument to begin with. Men are not biologically created to give birth.

Actually women are stronger than men, at least in this case. If a man would have to stand the pain which a woman has while giving birth to a child, the man would die.
It is proven that women can stand more pain than men.

Dear Brad D, when your leg gets suddenly ripped off in a war situation your body is under shock, that prevents you from dying. In child birth your body is prepared and not under shock. The situation is complete different.

Hi.

Yes, the body is designed to do that. Yes, it is a natural function.

But hey... YOU try opening an umbrella up your as*s or passing a watermelon and survive that and be willing to do it again and tell me that's not special!

It doesn't show individual strength, really. But each person has to mentally and emotionally prepare for this event-- we are not animals in that sense, and we have a real fear during some part of the pregnancy about NOT being able to handle this... and yet we do it any way. Is that natural? Yup. But it IS an incredible, special event, whether our bodies are made for it or not.

Also, perhaps some women push the "aren't we incredible to accept this part of our life!" issue because they might have a male partner who gets a hangnail and then says "Dear... I'm sick. Hand me the remote..."

You're right about the physical... and wrong about the emotional/ spiritual. Man, you've opened a can of worms!

what exactly makes you the expert? I work at a hospital and although it is natural and destined for our bodies it doesn't make it ridiculous and easy.

should we get right up off the table and go to work, idiot. did your mother turn u into norman bates or something, why such animosity towards women.

btw, does the almost 10 months (yes 10, look it up stupid) of pregnancy count for nothing, that is a huge transition for the body and no it never is the same after that.

you're a dumbass and a jerk, please, don't reproduce, your woman would kill you during her pregnancy anyways if not at the birth.

Hmm why do men think they are some god just because of their penis. I mean it is part of their biological DESIGN, all it does is piss, ejaculate, and (for some) violate another individual. I mean if its really that special to you could get a trophy desinged like a weiner and put it on a pedestal and it could be your idol. Thats what guys pretty much do anyways just admit it. Dont kid yourself
have a nice day!

Dude. When a man gets a leg blown off he doesn't feel it. The trauma and injury are so devastating he lapses into shock then consciousness; nature's way of anesthetizing us from the actual pain which, of course, would be intolerable and the shock alone could kill.
Now, to the question at hand--try this yourself. have a bowling ball surgically implanted in your stomach. Carry it aournd for nine months. At the end of the nine months, deliver the bowling ball from a six inch opening cut into your groin area then get back to us and tell us how it felt. K, buddy? K...get going now! We all want to hear back from you six months down the road. Enjoy!

I'll tell you what...ask that question after the first time you pass a kidney stone! I have, and it is said this is as close as it gets to a woman having a baby for a man pain wise.

You don't know pain until that little pin-head size rock starts moving out! It took this strong mechanic man down on the ground. By the time it passed I had over 50mg of morphine injected by the doctors to calm the pain!

No, women are not generally as strong physically as men and were never meant to be but they can stand pain easier then a man especially where child birth is concerned. It is not as normal as breathing and eating and you show a great lack of intelligence in your statement.

I hope you never have a kidney stone I don't think you will be able to take it!

You would have no idea since you as a man has never nor will ever experience birth. I realize that many men such as yourself are very resentful of that fact but perhaps if the Goddess sees fit she will reward you in the next life by bringing you to an earthly existance as a female.

Your attitude sucks.

Childbirth is an endurance event. It requires physical and mental stamina roughly equivalent to that of running a marathon. Often, it lasts LONGER than a marathon.

And you obviously need to be reminded that up until about 60 years ago, it was also fairly common for women to die while giving birth.

Giving birth IS a spectacular accomplishment.
