When I had my little boy I was advised to avoid eating soft ice cream which included Ice creams from the ice cream vans and Mc Donalds McFlurrys and other ice cream, as u dont know if they have cleaned the machine or if they have properly. I must admit though that this time Ive been a bit more relaxed and have had one or two McFlurrys but of course its ur choice and ur risk.

Its like everything in moderation, when pregnant you are told what to eat and mainly what not to eat - ie no mayo, healthy foods, fruit n veg, raw meats, eat only salads you prepare yourself, avoid eggs, chocolates/sweets for too much sugar the list is endless.
Don't listen to everyone cos everyone has advice to give....if you want you should have.
I have had 2 very different pregnancies my 1st i ate everything healthy and did everything by the book and my son eats anything and everything. My 2nd i ate anything and everything in sight and my 2nd son is a fussy eater so you never can tell. You be the best judge and all the best for your new arrival......and if nothing else develop cravings I didnt have any for either pregnancy but it good to eat lots of what you like hahaha.
best of luck and just enjoy your pregnancy cos believe it or not you'll miss the bump when its gone!!!!

Nooooooooooooo.... not at all! You should not eat any "soft-serve" ice-cream - i.e. ice cream out of those big metal silver machines as if they are not cleaned properly they can cause salmonella as the ice-cream is made from raw egg... and you are definately not allowed to eat raw egg in pregnancy. I would steer clear of this to be on the safe side...

NO DONT EAT IT!!!!! sorry to shout but dont! my midwife told me not to. U cannot guarantee that it has been put straight into the machine, it can cause listeria or something like that, it wouldnt normally harm u but if ur pregnant it can make u really ill. unfortunatly that means u cant have their milkshakes either for same reason, or mr whippy ice cream, u can only have the scoopable ice cream from tubs. and prepacked milkshakes, no posh icecream either, i know its gutting but im in my 33rd week no and just about managing. lol

You seem to be getting mixed responses here! I was told by my doctor not to eat soft ice cream, something to do with the egg content and pasturisation process? Its up to you at the end of the day by balancing up the risks etc.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

I would not as i am sure it contains all sorts of additives. You have to be very careful with icecream as if the scoop is left in warm water the bacteria multiply and could cause salmonella. You would have to be sure that the pump had been cleaned on a regular basis but i would not run the risk.

I work at mcdonalds and as a disadvantage (not to keen on the food due to 4 months of it non stop) i get free food for lunch. I am 3 months pregnant and eat it as its there and available. It hasnt done me any harm although i would warn you not to eat too much mcdonalds food such as burgers and chips and they are very fatty and extremley greasy and salty, not good for the baby.

It looks like the milk used for the ice cream is pasteurized so yes you can eat it while pregnant without endangering you or the baby, but you don't want to over due it with the sweets to much.
If you like here is a list of foods to avoid for a healthy pregnancy :

Good luck and congratulations!

It's no worse than any other ice cream. As long as you don't eat too much of it, it's fine. Just skip the french fries.

Why not, is what I say! Obviously not for breakfast lunch and dinner everyday though...lol!
As for the mention of bugs and bacteria, when you look at it like that....just touching a door handle could be deemed 'risky'. People still have to 'live' a little.
Enjoy a 'treat' you deserve it.....
