I bought a bedroom set. Matching sheets, pillow slips, curtains, and of course the comforter. Now all of the batting is along the sides and really distorting the corners. It's not in the middle where it belongs. What do they use for batting and how can I prevent this from happening again? I called the name of the distributer and the superviser said she washed her comforter every week and nothing like this ever happened to her {I did not have the nerve to ask why she had to wash it every week}. Now I have to buy another one and don't know if it is worth the investment. There is another comforter that I have and the same thing has happened to it. What can I do?

The reason the batting shifts is because the quilting lines are too far apart. You can either add more quilting to it, or safety pin (use stainless or brass pins so they don't rust) in between the quilting lines before washing it. If you use the big diaper pins it's actually a pretty quick procedure to pin and un-pin when you wash it.

Oh no, of course it has never happened to THEM before. Doesn't that just make you angry? The reason they do this is because most customers insist on low price and they don't really care about quality. If you look at the tag, it was probably made by small children in a country where they are polluting their neighborhood and the Earth with the factory. We need to band together, shop more and own less by buying only American made goods that will last a long time.

The trouble is, most of our fellow countrymen would rather buy something cheap that will be ruined soon, because then they can throw it away and go shopping again. It's not about finding good things. It's about coming out of that store with as many bags as possible.

Go to as many blog sites as possible and write posts beginning with "(name of brand AND name of store ) comforter review" and describe it in detail, along with the reaction you got. I'd die before treating a customer that way.

believe it or not its very common the only way you can save this type of comforter is instead of washing it send it out to be dry cleaned other then that buy the ones that have the most thread count the tighter the thread count the more likely you will not have this problem hope this helps you have a good day.

That happened to me with a down comforter. I took it back to the store and got a replacement. After replacing it, I learned (just as another member stated) to dry clean my comforters. Have you tried to return it?

You, unfortunately, have to buy expensive comforters to avoid this problem - and ALWAYS take them to the cleaners.

Good luck!!!
