Traveling to Marrakech in December..VERY EXCITED...my first trip to Africa. What are the top sites? Also, we plan on taking a train to Agadir or Casablanca....which would be more fullfilling for a culture experience? Thanks!

1. Jma El Fna - the main square during the day you can shop the souks and at night it's very lively with restaurants and street performers. The Koutubia Mosque at night is beautiful.
2. Gueliz district - cool shops, restaurants, cafes
3. Le Jardin Marjorelle & museum of Islamic art- beautiful gardens owned by Ives St Laurent
4. Saadian tombs & Marrekch Art Museum
5. All the different souks (jewelry, spices, shoes, leather goods)

Agadir is a tourist beach town and Casa is a large, polluted city so very different destinations. There isn't much to see in Casa, just the Hassan II mosque. Fes is quite charming with the small, romantic winding streets.
Have a wonderful trip! Feel free to email me w/questions or if you want more info.

I'm sure you will have a great time in Marrakesh if you don't mind the crowded places, first of all you have the "jamaa el f'na" the square where the snake charmers and the story tellers and some pick pockets too :) gather, then you have the menara site, it's historic and beautiful, after that you will need to go to the some gardens in there (i don't know the name and never been there, I'm from Casablanca ;) ) then if you have time you can go climb up the oukaimden mountain, later well...I'm sure you'll find plenty more things to do, that's as much as a guy from Casablanca can help you about Marrakesh.

welcome and have a nice trip
