It is over-populated for its resources. We have reduced war, improved medicines, and extended the life span of every person. Because of this, we have increased the fear within the world and also the fighting over resources. If anyone thinks that the war in Iraq is over reducing terror, they are living in an amazing place.

Ancient Europeans wrote about Ages of Man.

There are also many other references to various
types of world ages or Ages of Man in Hopi
(worlds), Mayan (suns) and other cultures of
antiquity. Giorgio de Santillana, the former
professsor of the history of science, mentions
approximately thirty ancient cultures that
believed in the concept of a series of ages and
the rise and fall of history, with alternating
Dark and Golden Ages.

More details of these Ages are available in the
Yuga concept of the Hindus. The present age
is known as Kali Yuga (age of darkness).

For sensible persons, many things appear to
be going wrong on this planet. Hence the
philosophical question - "what is wrong with
this planet?"

However, there is some relief. We will see the
beginnings of the next age from 2020, as
predicted by some Indian astrologers.

Nothing it's wrong with our planet...it's the irrational actions of human beings that makes things difficult.

Because we have free choice and choose to hurt others, or sometimes can't help but to hurt others, to keep the balance between good and evil. This world cannot exist if there was no evil. If there was all good, this world wouldn't be able to function properly. It's like Ying and Yang, Good and Evil

Even doing something like buying a sick girl medicine has consequences. It will cost you money. Without bad, there is no good, without good, there is no bad. It must be balanced.
