I have an R reg 3 cylinder corsa and the engine management light keeps coming on due to an electronic selanoid sticking. I have tried to clean it however it is still sticking. Do i need to leave this in a long soak in petrol or something? Also engine started to make rattling sound, could this be due to oil issues?

you should take the car for a diagnostic test to determine which sensor is at fault, the most common one is the E.G.R. valve, this valve is very expensive to buy from vauxhall but you can now but it as an after market part from a good motor factors at a much cheaper price. With regards your engine rattle these are not the best of engines and they do tend to be a bit rattle if they have done big mileage. Also if you have aloud the oil to run low it affects the timing chain tensioner allowing the engine to make an awful noise but these can sort them selves out ofter an oil change and refilling with the correct oil which is very thin.
