When I was a child, I was afraid that when we swim at night, we get black as if we had fallen in black ink. Everybody has their own fears concerning the sea.
As for you, Paco, chances are that they will find you because they have ways to make the night, a day! So, take the boat at night, as I once decided to swim in the nights and I realized I came out of it white as I was and not black as I was afraid I would be.
