And for you people that want to say that we named it that because the Operation Iraqi Liberation has an acronym that spells OIL please don't waste my time....
sure it does big deal it still says Iraqi Liberation....which is the same as Iraqi Freedom...

Iraq is free from Saddam but that could have been done without invading Iraq. As for it being a safe place where Americans will not fear terrorism? Look at any place in the US are there any places where Americans don't fear terrorism? When a US soldier can walk down the streets 24/7 without armoured humvees and support, Iraq will have hope. Will that day ever come?
The people in government who led us to Iraq looking for WMDs need to face jail time. They've intentionally or unintentionally led to the deaths of thousands of Americans and other peoples. Send someone to jail.
Sometimes it seems like criminals have it easy in the US or at least that's what people used to say. "He'll be out on the streets tomorrow." We'll the same goes for those who are endangering the lives of Americans through their policies. put them in jail.
If president Bush or Dick Cheney love America they will go to Iraq after they leave office and stay there helping get that country together until it is 'free' and 'democratic' and safe.. If they don't go they are cowards and traitors to the nation.

The invasion and occupation of Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with liberating the Iraqi people, nor did it have anything to do with weapons of mass destruction, 9/11, or al Qaida.
The real reasons why we're having a war for profit in Iraq are too many to list here. I recommend you read "Armed Madhouse" by Greg Palast or "Hubris" by Michael Isikoff and David Corn for a detailed explanation.

The US invaded iraq because it presented a "uniquely urgent" threat of attack on the west with chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons.
What was found after the invasion,
0 nuclear weapons
0 biological weapons
0 chemical weapons
no weapons programs to speak of.
The US named it Operation Iraqi Freedom because it made the invasion sound noble as opposed to
Operation Invade Another Country.

Well code names do not mean anything, it's meet to make the enemy think one thing and the attacking force to do nothing in connection with the code name, so this code name was a diversion meet for the allies public.
Had they named it Operation Iraqi Liberation then we could say it was not about oil

Lol. This is so funny. Kid I recommend you start studying geopolitics and international studies. Many of the evil doings of our government have all been carried out and chanted under the slogan of peace, freedom, and spread of democracy. When someone tells you something and waves a flag in front of you to rally your support and your vote, I recomment you take a 360 degree view of what's being thrown and served at you. Judging from history it is common believe that there's always another flag hidden and waved behind the flag of freedom that our government waves when it ventures to other parts of the world for missions.

It's called IRONY. For another example... What do you call a piece of legislation that serves to:
1. authorize illegal domestic wiretapping
2. suspend rights granted by the Constitution (i.e., Habeas Corpus, protection against illegal search/seizure, protection against detention without formal charges, etc.)
3. circumvent balance of powers by allowing the AG, rather than the President, to appointment of State's Attorneys and bypass the Senate confirmation process? (1st version only, this provision was removed from subsequent versions)
Answer: The "Patriot Act"
See how that naming thing works?

The government can name any program ANYTHING they want---that doesn't mean they are telling the TRUTH!
It's just a name. Look at the educational bill called "No Child Left Behind". Sounds great, right?
Problem is that in many big cities, like L.A., the high school drop out rate is still at least 40% at many schools and that's even with all the "help" from "No Child Left Behind."
It's B.S. my dear. It's all political B.S. Learn what it smells like and looks like so you can vote the %#@#!s out of office.

Iraq was better off under Saddam, but now it is in shambles
and totally destroyed and so many thousands of people are murdered everyday, who is accountable for this invasion for the sake of oil. This invasion has added to global warming. So many humans are being killed and so many animals and birds are being destroyed. This is worse than any crime commited by Saddam.Saddam was an angel in comparison .

Traditionally the use names to refer to military operations is to conceal the nature of the operation. for example
Manhattan Project- US development of atomic bomb
Overlord- the D day invasion
Barbarossa-German invasion of Russia
Just Cause - US invasion of Panama
Desert storm- first Iraq war

The Bush Regime’s launch of the Project for the New American Century with the invasion of Iraq was not really out of character for the United States. While it was certainly executed with more blatant disregard for international law than America’s previous imperial endeavors, it typifies the American sanctimonious belief that it can do no wrong.
George Bush was simply reiterating America’s long-standing mendacious rationale for its exploitative behavior when he stated:
“What I'm trying to suggest to you that this program is a part of a strategic goal, and that is to protect this country in the short-term and protect it in the long-term by spreading freedom.”
Consider some of the freedoms the United States is spreading:
1. Freedom to work under miserable conditions for a pittance.
2. Freedom to exist in an environment permeated with depleted uranium.
3. Freedom to sell precious resources to soulless multinational corporations at garage sale prices.
4. Freedom to experience a Kafkaesque nightmare including arrest with no charges, no trial to determine guilt or innocence, the endurance of torture, and indefinite detention.
5. Freedom to realize the inherent inferiority of one’s culture, religion, and language, and to cast them aside like sacks of rank-smelling garbage.
6. Freedom to be maimed or killed if one dares to reject the “gifts” of these freedoms.
America’s corporate media propaganda machine has managed to maintain a fastidiously manicured façade for many years. Despite appearing to exist as a champion of democracy, equality, freedom, and human rights, the reality of the United States was, and is, that its socioeconomic and governmental systems are racist, bigoted, ruthless and plutocratic in nature.
Democracy has never existed in the United States. A de facto aristocracy has dominated our constitutional republic dating back to the Continental Congress. Capitalism is a brutal, pitiless economic system that encourages and rewards greed, selfishness, exploitation, and annihilation of the competition.
Obsessed with materialism, conspicuous consumption, convenience, physical appearance, and winning, many Americans gorge themselves on the abundant fruits of Capitalism, oblivious to the fact that billions of human beings live in abject poverty and misery to make their feast possible.
