It aimed to jog memories and NOT aimed at the public NOW to spot this faceless man.

Details:
The man is drawn by the artist with greasy, straggly hair, wearing a purple or maroon top and beige chinos.

He is aged about 35 to 40, 5ft 6in (1.7m) tall, and of slim build.

The child, with her legs dangling, is wearing the same pyjamas as Madeleine on the evening of May 3.

Opinions?

Thanks

So this 'swathy looking' stranger (that no one has seen before, not lurking around or looking suspicious) walks unspotted into apartment.

Takes up a seemingly sleeping child who does not wake up, despite been removed from her bed, and blankets been taken off.

He carries her and himself through a waist high window (according to the McCanns), when the door has been left unlock without waking the child, or disturbing the others.

He does'nt bother to cover to try to disguise the child despite this been a child abuction.

He casually strolls past the resturant with a sleeping child uncovered in full view of anyone, not running or even walking jogging. Just walking.

With, what looks like a comtose child in his arms.

No one else sees a thing.

hmmmm

Better pass this one to Jessica Fletcher

I don't think it will 'jog any memories'.

If anyone in that area saw a man with a child that night, they would have remembered back in May when it was fresh in their memories.

This drawing is 5 months too late and a waste of time.

Is Jane Tanner such a credible witness, after all the initial description was a bundle which *could* have been a child - it is now *a blond child with dangling legs in Madeleine's pjs*. He was also seen initially heading for the beach, latest reports said he was heading for Murat's house.

One thing for sure is that it completely rules Robert Murat out.

This drawing could be any 35 to 40 year old male of Mediterranean origin. All this picture serves is to keep the media interested enough to keep the plight of this little girl in the headlines. Let us also remember that there are a huge number of children who go missing globally each year - hopefully a campaign such as this one not only highlights Madeleine but also brings to our attention the horrors that these other children have to endure.

I don't understand why people are asking "why wasn't this done months ago?" as if that's the McCann's fault.
Why is it being seen as a cynical attempt at diversion because it comes months into the case?

If it wasn't done in the early days, the blame rests solely with the PJ.
It wasn't only Jane Tanner who saw him, either. A second independant witness was reported at the time to have seen a man wearing clothes matching this description and carrying a child.
Cases are sometimes solved years after the crime by appeals and reconstructions of this kind. It doesn't seem an unusual step at all to me.

IMO - Extremely cynical and subjective move by the Mc's.

Nice use of sinister imagery (faceless man with helpless child).

Why now 5 months later?

Description by 'friend' who saw this 'man' but didn't realise the importance of it at the time. What?? Then why was this image not issued in the days afterwards?

It's a smoke screen which will not help the investigation any further.

I conclude it is a poor piece of PR and the pro-Mc's must really think the Gen Public are as dim as they are made out to be.

I think people are finding it so hard to take this seriously because firstly it has taken 6 months for this to be released and is accurate on hair legnth, height even the shoes and age. My personal opinion is that to put an age on someone you would need to have seen the face quite clearly, to see the face clearly you would certainly have noticed the child was your best mates kid. I'm sorry I'm just not buying it.

Yes,I'm wondering why Gerry McCann and Jeremy Wilkins didn't see the same man, when they were stood chatting right where Jane Tanner says she spotted this person?
In fact, didn't Jeremy Wilkins refute her statement saying it wasn't possible?

Toi et moi I know you are doing the right thing, but I just think WHY did Jane Tanner NOT notice her best friends daughter?
This sighting changed from blanket to bundle to child to Madeleine.
How can this be?

why was this not done 4 months ago????

this just makes everything look more suspicious and considering the first pic was terrible (an egg with some hair) how is there so much detail on the clothes that wasnt there before?
And where is the blanket????
