Try to remember that you are not acting like him. You are bringing him to life. Your audience needs to believe that you are him. Get to know him. Read the play a few times. Get to know the material as much as you can. Breakdown his story in to a begining a middle and end. Decide where his individual moments take place. Become him. Decide how you can make him succeed in getting what he wants through the course of this show.

Cassio is a young military man, who is courtly (complimentary in a respectful way) and appealing to women. He is frank, rather than manipulative, as Iago is. When he gets drunk and loses his reputation for respectability, he is distraught. When playing him, it might be good to remember that everyone likes him - except Iago - so he is charming, and fairly uncomplicated.
