I try to speak my mind but in a way that will make them consider their own position on a question and perhaps agree with me,
or perhaps give them several choices of an answer. To tell another person what they want to hear sometimes can only hurt them in the long run. A girl asking if a man loves her for example can just be answered no, which will hurt her, but it can be answered by "does he do this for you" or "does he do that for you?" so that you are not telling her what she wants to hear but giving her thoughts to make up her own mind that the answer is no.

At this stage of my life , I've learned honesty IS indeed the best policy. So no I'm no longer a people pleaser, I have had to deliver bad news before, probably will again. And generally I find people will tell you later, I didn't like what you had to tell me , but it was the best thing that ever happened to me , it made me look more deeply at myself and make changes.
There's a way to tell people stuff without being so totally offensive, tact, compassion and empathy do come into it.

I used to tell people what they wanted to hear but now try to tell the truth in a constructive way. It does no-one any good if they don't know the truth but at the same time it's no good criticising without a positive solution.

Hi sweety!
NOT necessarily . . . sometimes one has to be cruel to be kind too! I never intentionally hurt anyone - don't like seeing people hurt! But, sometimes one HAS to hurt a little bit to find equilibrium again! I don't like lies either, so I tend to be honest regardless, yet always try to do so with empathy!

I have to be honest. But if it something that would hurt a person
then what's the point in saying something unless it is otherwise constructive? Peace.

I speak my mind if it is someone I care about. I want them to know how I really feel.

I give my honest opinion. I just say it in a way that won't offend them. If I can't say something without giving my honest opinion, then I'd rather not say anything.
