hi there,
i want to practice on linux .but my company uses windows xp n no portable devices r allowed.I can use cds but i cant save my work on the cd, so how do i work on linux or run linux

Linux Live CDs, since it's OS-run-on-CD there is no installation at all, if someone says you are playing company machine just pop the CD back out and restarts back to XP.

All Lives I know as popular currently can use filesystem-on-a-file piggybacks on a FAT32, to save configuration, it ranges from fully automatic to fully manual. So that worry no longer stands.

The short answer: you can't. Your job should be taking up most of your time thus leaving you no time to play with Linux or whatever.

I can say so because, I face similar situation and many of my friends also face the same situation.

If you are seen playing with office hardware, you will stand a good chance to be fired at the same moment. Forget Linux and get to work.

Ask ur admin whether they have any linux PC.. Then telnet to it n start working...

Do what you are supposed to do, work. They are not paying you to play! Most companies I manage IT for have an instant dismissal policy for anyone using their machines for personal use.
