Most of us are, but then again we do get the occasional younger person.
In general, Senior refers to a person passed 55, but in this section we don't tend to act our age. We can get quite rowdy at times and enjoy a good laugh, story line, helping others, jokes, & even ripping someone to ribbons now & then.
We do bend the rules somewhat, but gently-very gently.
We are respectful to others here & don't tolerate those that aren't.
We have been having a few problems with folks (trolls) coming here & using the thumbs down button to get people violated. We are furious about that & know who is doing it. So don't be surprised if you Q or A & get a violation notice.
We love having new folks join us-so welcome
Oh! & please do something about your breath.

It seems to me that the vast majority are seniors -- perhaps at least in their sixties. There seems to be more and more on here though who are pre-seniors, still in their 50s. I've also seen a few younger professional people come on here who work or have worked with the older population too.
It is a breath of fresh air to enter this forum. Sometimes I take part directly. Other times I enjoy reading the questions and answers of others.
Rarely do I see evidence of nasty people here. Most are very nice.

Here in the Philippines, we consider a person from 60 onwards to be senior citizens. From this point of view, you are not even considered a senior citizen since you are only 59. So the answer to your question is obvious. But seriously, the answer to your question is really "no". You can see from the answers that some people refer to their father or mother in reaction to a question, which means that they are obviously referring to them as the seniors and not to themselves.

Seems society has reinvented what a senior is. I never thought I was till the bank and AARP did. 50 and over. Over here but not old enough to get social security but old enough to be asked about the senior discounts. LOL
Anyone can come here. I like it here as well....great people.... but the trolls attack and it is discouraging. Some people think older people don't have a life and it makes you wonder about those who have nothing better to do than spoil it for others.

Sasha...welcome! Anyone who wants to treat us with friendliness and respect is more than welcome.
We have been having fun with "invasions" of Hillbillies from Religion & Sprituality this past week. They will probably come to visit again real soon (maybe Sunday night). You should make sure to attend to enjoy the fun.
Sometimes we dream up some silliness all on our own, but that has calmed down lately. (Because of those nasty, smelly T___s, you know!)
Otherwise, we spend a lot of time just asking and answering questions about anything and everything that comes to mind. If you have just a bit of "zany" you will probably just love us! In the meantime, enjoy.

Many of us here are boomers/seniors, I'm 51-I like to call myself a Jr/Sr. lol There are people of all ages on at different times, some have questions about their parents (mine are in their 70s) or elderly neighbors, etc. We have people from all around the globe and it's mostly a great group of folks. Ignore the few 'bad seeds' we occasionally get. All in all it's a great place to be. Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy the ride.

No. Some people come here to ask questions about things that affect senior citizens, or questions about what it's like to be a senior citizen, etc. Some come to answer questions that senior citizens may ask.
I am definitely not a senior citizen. I very rarely look at this section mind you!

Well, three restaurants, one college and the trailer park.. *excuse me*... mobile home park consider me a "senior" at 56.
I get in here because of the warm fun that passes by and friendly writers and their humor! [HUMOUR, to you.] Sometimes, I just laugh my self silly to tears!
There is nothing better that reading some of the funny or serious thoughts that others have to share or ask. It's been a delight to visit this section. Welcome and Blessings!

Well, I'm 64 and I refer to my parents a lot even though they have been gone many years. I'm answering questions backwards again today(not in order of asking) I hop between hobbies and this site and prefer it here when everyone gets along. Hope you enjoy this site and just ignore the thumbs down and the sarcasm of some. Welcome!
