in the night. Picks up a sleeping 3 year old (she was 3 at the time). Walks with her around the complex and is seen by 2 people. One immediatley after the abduction ( Jane Tanner) and the other, while the child IS STILL SLEEPING about 1/2 hr later 5 streets away.
Is this plausable?
Please bear in mind that the child was not drugged in any way.
The apartment was being checked regularly.
Jane Tanner can remember it was Madelaine, did not raise the alarm, knows exactly what Pyjamas she was wearing but cannot remember anything about the abductors face.
I feel for the McCanns loss but really it doesnt take Miss Marple to see the holes....

some kids sleep real deep, have you ever move a sleeping kid from your car to there bed, not saying i side with them but it can happen.

Not forgetting that the abductor, remakes the bed, places cuddlecat on a high shelf, cleans up what he thought was all the dna evidence he left behind. Brought his own blanket to wrap Madeleine in (which Jane Tanner mentions in 1st description but omits in 2nd one)
The story is full of holes and Jane Tanners statement, if it wasn't involving a small child, is a complete joke.

Why did she not say anything at the time,like even a comment "what's that man doing" not many men carry a sleeping child around with them especially out of a complex.Did it not seem strange to her, too much alcohol maybe but this is the same women who shouted at Robert Murat at the police station that he was outside Maddies apartment the same night .Just a thought but is she trying to defer the attention away from her husand who went missing for 2 hours on the same night and went to visit Kate Mc Cann (Gerry sent him up to her while he was playing tennis) at 6.30 something not adding up at all.Will we ever find out the truth i don't think anyody will.

It goes to show you what happens when you practice careless parenting.
Hearing their story, there are so many holes. Not to mention that the Portugese authorities took taking their time in the beginning and don't have enough structure. Madeline could be a child missing forever and her mystery may never be solved.
Always follow the rule to never leave your kids alone, especially in an apartment with the door unlocked!

The 2 sightings of this man seem plausable to me.
Probably Jane Tanner didn't in her wildest dreams think "is that madeleine he has got there" it's only afterwards the penny has dropped.

Wouldn't Jane Tanner have done what any person would have done if seeing a stranger with a friend's child and challenged that person?
