In women who have abnormal bleeding and both fibroids and polyps, a D&C is probably a good first step to clear out the polyps and see if there could be fibroids that are causing the bleeding.

It should be fine having the D&C with aneasthesia and I'm sure you can trust your doctor is making the right decision by recommending it, however I would recommend you discuss your concerns and any other questions regarding the procedure with your doctor/gyneacologist for peace of mind.

Good luck :)

I have had a cervical polyp removed before, but it was done in the office. As for if it's ok to have this removed at the same time you have a D&C (had one of these as well to find out why I was having bleeding issues in 1999 after my doctor found the polyp earlier in the Spring of that year) it might be ok but I would recommend making another appt with your doctor to ask a bunch more questions before proceeding with the planned procedures recommended.

It also couldn't hurt to get another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently ues to see what they say.

This is the best thing to do and it is very simple. You can check in in the morning and check out in the evening. No medicine will work for this.
