the reason why i asked this ? is cuz m sons team do this alot until last friday the ref kept calling illegal motion or enchaochment and his coach was red hot and ended up thrown out the game

depends on your state and your high school athletic associations rules even the overtime formats can be different in different states. for instance i know its illegal in a lot of states to have motion before the snap, and in some its u have to be set a certain way your high school athletic association should have a website were u should be able to download a rule book

In high school, the refs just aren't used to seeing such complex formations that they don't recognize whats correct and incorrect.

In my state they do it but doing it is tricky and can get lots of calls.
The HS team I follow gets in their set. The coach watches the defense set then give QB play. This is risky lot of delays are called. lots of procedures are called. To get in and out of set requires very disiplined players

ha thats funny.
yea i'm sure they can change the formation and put guys in motion....there is a right way of doing it and an illegal way of doing it.
they must have been doing it wrong.
