who and under what circumstances Hockey was declared as National game ?
What is the criteria for declaring any game as national game ?
If at the relevant time Sharad power was charman of BCCI it would have been cricket
If we can change the name of the streets, cities and States right and left , there should be nothing to change the tiltle of the game.
No constitutional amendment is required .
Games should be allowed to be changed depending upon the games structure and who heads it .
If kazai type of prime minister is in power we may declare rugby or base ball as our national game

Indians find cricket more interesting than hockey, and so it is becoming so popular.
Moreover, Indian hockey has crashed recently in World Standard. Only Shahrukh Khan and Chakde India can revive Hockey.

In every country there are two things one is official and one is popular. So u can say cricket is more popular among masses than hockey. but there is one more point and that is media as media is giving more importance to cricket than any other game. because of powerful multinational companies who are infesting huge amount in cricket advertisements.

Indians like to follow everything the English does.
They have chosen English their national language and cricket their national ( unofficial) game . Funny thing is that they are not good at any of these.
