3 (x + 6) = 36
1. Distribute the 3
3x + 18 = 36
2. Subtract the 18.
3x = 18
3. Divide 18 by 3.
x = 6

3(x+6)=36

u multiply all the stuff inside the brackets by the number outside it

3x + 18 = 36
-18 -18

3x = 18
/3 /3

x = 6

check:

3(x+6)=36
3(6+6)=36
18+18 = 36
correct!

x=6 so 3(6+6)=36 If there is nothing between a number and an opening bracket, and the number is not in the bracket, then it is times

3(x+6)=36

ok first thing to do is get rid of that multiplication. what do i mean?

3 x (x+6) = 26 do you see it?

divide by three since you have to multiply by 3.
(3(x+6)) / 3 = 36 / 3

then it translate to:
x+6 = 12
now get rid of the addition sign, by subtracting with 6
x+6 - 6 = 12 - 6
x = 6

now check your answer:
3(6+6) = 36
3(12) = 36
36 = 36

you're done, gl hf.

3(x+6)=36
distribute 3 into (x+6) to get 3x + 18 = 36
then subtract 18 from both sides to get:
3x = 18
divide by 3 to get x by itself
x = 18/3 = 6
