Yes, if they're highly principled, cultured, truely God fearing & self controlled.
Issue of attraction or sex comes at a time when pure selfishness dominates over true friendship. Attraction may be there but it must not resuly sexual exploitation. Satan invades on the minds & hearts. If basic safety principle is followed strictly by the woman : ' Safety first, anything else later ', no such thing can happen b coz she at the end bears the brunt. A true man friend of a woman will treat her like his real sister even if she is very attractive & sexy too. He will never exploit her. If the woman is taller & physically stronger than the friend then too she will not be exploited by the man's hoodwinking. Also, the woman must keep her self esteem, dignity & honour very high & not allow the friend to touch even. It is quite possible though many people don't believe in that. It is a matter of great sorrow that now-a-days men are not maintaining good principled standards of friendships with women & exploiting the high emotions of womenfolk as their weakness which must be condemned most strongly. Real friendship is against woman's exploitation. A friend must protect the chastity of his woman friend rather than damaging that. I'm a God fearing person . Thank God, I never come across such a situation & I proudly say that I never had any extramarital sex with anybody. My heart bleeds for those girls/women who pass through such experiences in life. For frienshipsake I believe in : Help & forget.

Shimmer, I've always managed to maintain a remarkable,
friendship based relationship with girls when I were younger;
and now women. One can learn a lot from being, "just
friends" with the member(s) of the opposite sex. I gain
tremendous insight into the persona, perspectives, psyche and ideologies of the female gender through other female
friends. This goes a long ways in determining compatibility
for a potential mate. Peace.

There is usually an issue, but not always. Like if your friend is much older, or younger, that issue can be ignored. Also, if both of you are in good relationships, it's easy to avoid, and kind of frees you from worrying about sex. So, yeah, you can just be friends.

Men and Women can be "just friends"....sex and attraction can be discussed .. in a general manner...if there is an open relationship....depending on the circumstances sometimes that conversation can mess up the "just friends" or bring your friendship closer!!

I find that if you can get past the attraction, that inevetably happens when you have a male friend, then you can be "just friends"
I have a very close friend and I am just as close to her husband.
We are very good friends, we all talk about the same things with each other.
So yes, you can.
I can sit and have a coffee and a chat with my friend and at another time do the same with her hubby, no attraction, just very good friends.

I have found thru life that one will always want more than just the friendship. That person may keep quiet but will still be hurting inside. Possibly with a gay friend. However, I have even had that backfire on me..And I am not gay.
An intimacy developed.

Men and women are created differently.Maybe the woman might think they are just friends but for the man the sexual feelings are alway just on the surface.

I think they can. Sometimes there is attraction, either with one or both feeling it, and sometimes there isn't. But either way, it's not like you have to act on it anyhow. I have a number of male friends, and sometimes sex found it's way into the friendship, and sometimes it didn't, and when it did, we were still able to stay friends afterwards.
