The Changling???!!!? Hello....that movie freaks me out EVERY TIME!!!! They listed a bunch of second-rate scary movies......ugh......give me strength....give me suspense.....give me thrill....forget the Gorr.....and the predictabilty.......
RENT THE CHANGELING......

Nothing is scarier than Stephen King's IT. Anything that has to do with a sinister force killing children would freak anybody out. The only way this could be topped is if they do a film about psycho spanking parents (who, BTW, go around killing anti-spanking parents as well as supposedly bratty kids) or a sinister nanny who dismembers her charges. YIKES!

If you're new to "The Changeling", I suppose it would be frightening. But, I saw the film about 20 times when it was shown on movie channels, so the chills do wear off. I agree that it is an excellent film, but it's not the scariest. I do like when the medallion works its way to the surface. That's an excellent shot.
Maybe I'm too much of an old-timer to fright films to become frightened by them. Too many go for the grossout, as Stephen King would say, but "The Changeling" does not stoop to such a level. It's a great ghost story!
I do agree that people should watch this film. Do it a couple of times so that you can follow all of the hints/clues. It's beautifully constructed. Sadly, the movie channels haven't run this one for a very long time.
Try "Premonition" (Japanese~2004). I'll be honest: At one point, this film had me so on edge that I wished it would be on tape so that I could fast forward it to get the poor man through a tough spot. The suspense was killing me!

To be honest, salemgirl1972, i'm not into 80's horror movie or older. When i watch Changeling in YouTube.com, i tot only in one word: Lame.
Sorry no offense. Maybe because the horror elements that were used in the 80s has worn out and perceived as silly things.
