Very likely. In the realm of the science fiction writer there has always been the possibility of a parallel universe. Indeed some SF writers go even further and talk of parallel universes [plural] an endless number of them stretching into infinity.

As far as I know there is nothing to disprove such a theory but as to whether it is taken seriously or not in the real scientific world, remains to be seen.

To grasp the possiblity of endless time and space and endless numbers of universes stretching into infinity, take two mirrors. Place the morrors opposite each other at a level point so that a reflection in the one on the right is copied into the mirror on the left and so on unto infinity.

I expect you have seen the above effect. Such images are sometimes called 'dopplegangers' but in reality, a doppleganger is best understood by listening to the sound of a police car passing you with it's siren going. As it approaches you the sound level is at one key, this changes to a different key [tone] as it moves away from you.

Don't ask me to explain all of this. Its got something to do with time, space and the distance between you and the siren making the sound and how long it takes blah blah blah etc.

There is certainly more than we can perceive with our ordinary senses or detect with the machines that we have invented. So if your definition of the word, universe, is the physical universe that secular scientists acknowledge, then, yes, there not only "could" be more than the universe, there "is" much more than the physical universe.

One thing that I know exists is the spiritual realm. This is where the angels and demons are. This realm interpenetrates the physical world. Every major religion talks about a spiritual realm. I personally have experienced that part of God's creation many times. So have millions of other people. We can't all be crazy!

I have not experienced all possibilities of spiritual experience, But I am certain that there is more than what I know about.

Think about it. Our eyes only see a very small part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Our ears only detect a small amount of the sound spectrum. For secular scientists to assert that the physical world is all that there is because it's all that they can find, is exceptionally arrogant and closed minded.

I don't know what your spiritual roots are, but if you grew up Christian or Jewish, don't think that the Bible isn't true just because secular scientists say it's not true.

According to Paul in the Bible he was called up to the third heaven in 2 Corinthians 12:1-5.

It's worth noting that some do not interpret this to mean three physical places.

First heaven is the atmospheres of earth which are Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, and Exosphere. We know this cause that bible refers to this as a heaven. Example:The birds in the heavens....

Second Heaven is the starting of space and the rest of the universe. We know this cause the bible sometimes refers to signs in the heavens like Stars.

Third Heaven is outside the universe and is considered God's Domain.

Note* This is not to be confused with the New Jerusalem in Revelations which comes out of heaven back to earth for the millennial reign of Christ.

Edit* What the above user is referring to is a "out of the body experience".

There could be more than one universe. At this point we only know what we see, (with the exception of dark matter) and all we see is the galaxies that go out for a certain distance.... beyond that, who knows. Also, there could be another dimension which doesn't exist within our perspective. Or there may be multiple versions of our space-time continuum. Nothing has been proven or disproven.

I believe that anything we put our minds into. Could be possible . Human imagination can come true. It has done so far, with technology developments. We could find out that there is more hidden secrets to be unveiled to us through discovery. Time is the important factor.
