I have no idea about other countries' hotels. In India, star hotels are the ones where you can expect some kind of safety and cleanliness.
Many of the others don't even have the basic fire extinguishers.

Probably depends on the hotels, the chains, if any, like Hilton, etc. Sure there are some. Google the chains and India as locale.
