His recording executive changed his name from John Bongiovi to Jon Bon Jovi to make referrence to AC/DC's Bon Scott and because he thought the name Bon Jovi sounded a little like the name Van Halen.

When Bon Jovi 1st came out they lied about his age. They wanted to attract a younger crowd.. He was 25 and they said he was 18 or 19 Not sure which. But he did look younger than he was... Saw that on VH1 a while back..
