to block a person's addictions to drugs, alcohol, food etc...what impact will that have on society?
This could be huge.

As long as the taking of whatever cure is voluntary, and that person agreed to it, sure. Personally, if there is a way to cure smokers, alcoholics, drug addicts, I would think most people would want that.

An addiction is:
2: compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful (source = m-w.com)
So, recreational use (not that I do) is not as harmful as an addiction, unless of course you become addicted. Depending on the drug, it may be quite likely. As for those who like to party here and there, they wouldn't be included as one of the "addicted" persons.
On the other hand, if the govt. simply began putting stuff in our water, food supply, etc., that would prevent addiction, that's way beyond acceptable. However, we are probably on our way to that kind of society. Glad I'll be dead before that happens.

I shall stop from thinking any further. Sooner or later, they will find out how to make these certain devices. Locking onto your exact coordinate brain-waves...hearing your exact thoughts, they can know everything.
My mind is better left closed...darkness can only find more darkness, coming yet ever closer to life.
It's in one of my notes...if any of yall people wanna know what I write about, e-mail me, and I'll tell you. You'll be amazed at the stuff I write...gotta have some free time in 8th grade, I write. Inner thoughts, beliefs, dreams...darkness. And the story begins...I'm out.
