Sure does. Don't even know who Lindsay Lohan is but I do know that humanity in general has lost it's way for the most part and news is just media by consent. Those who partake just gobble it all up, talk about it and go along their merry turkey way. Happy Thanksgiving.

It makes me sad that they don't mention Lindsay Lohan when they are talking about the war in Iraq. I personally want to hear about where Lindsay Lohan went to school ANYTIME someone talks about schools.

It's just a simple commentary on the human condition.
For as much as we love uplifting, touching stories, nothing do we love more than the fall of someone we helped rise up. This mentality can be seen in anything from the fascination we have with Lindsay, to Britney, to any popular "star" (actor, athlete, even someone big like Martha Stuart).
Perhaps it is our warped way of dealing with our envy. Or perhaps it makes us feel better knowing that they are not beyond "the little people's" trials and tribulations as well. Or maybe it is just a fun "distraction" from our own miseries. Notice, most of the time, no one even cares if it is true, just as long as it is juicy and tawdry.
Either way, I can't say that I find it a particularly endearing human tendency, but as long as there is freedom of the press, it will be used as much (if not more?) to harm and exploit as it will be to truly inform.
We have no one to blame but our human selves.

well, what really matters is just a point of veiw, but i agree with dave. It makes my stomach cringe when I think of the fact that I live in a place where the people around me consider things like lindsey lohan is something they want to hear about

As a celebrity none are spared. I dont care personally whether Lindsay does drugs, or DUI. But I just wish she doesnt hurt anyone when DUI.
Yes unfair to all those people(who do not seek the attention intentionally) whose lives are microscopically published in papers.

I am deeply troubled that society has failed the population insofar as It has generated a society of sheep that can be so easliy manipulated. What has happened to a society that has so many people glued to the television to watch 'American Idol' yet have never watched a single munite of C-Span? A society that has bought millions of copies of the latest Pop/Rock/Hip-hop release but have never read a single issue of Wall Street Week? A society that favors bling-bling over an honest days work?
Am I saddened? Yes. I am also very afraid for the future of the many who will one day be senior citizens, sitting in their run-down studio apartments eagerly awaiting their meager assistance checks still watching reruns of 'Idol'.

Not really. TVs n Magazines n all the media or people talks about her because she's "celebrity (or whatever you wanna call her)". And I don't even give a whak. It's not my proble, and it's not social problem, it's her problem. People can have addiction (alcohol, drugs...) but it has nothing to do with Ms. Lohan.
