Are unscrupulous people more result-oriented than the principled ones? If so, is result-orientation desirable?

I am raising it as a philosophic question related to way of life, rather than a business management issue.

it is true what you say. unscrupulous people just want the job done so as to prove they are competent, get an easy way out,
earn riches. any or other reasons as above.

however, principle people see that the importance of not breaking the principles far outweigh the benefits of being unscrupulous. they act this way either by a guiding philosophy or they were just well raised and have a strong conscience.

being result oriented is desirable but not at " any cost".
this is a personal reflection.

example: cheat in school and get good grades but in college u lack the base and suffer.

however, there are counter examples which unscrupulous people will bring up which are sensible and breaking the principle does not seem like a very bad unforgiveable act.

i guess that even among conscientous people, there are those who draw a fine line of never breaking their principles and those who believe that a little flexibility is desired to prosper or even survive in the world.

Yes, since these unscrupulous people go beyond the principles laid down by the learned people. They do not follow certain or concrete principles. They are more result-oriented because of an open-type mind not moving around the context of a doctrine or law. In other words, unscrupulous people have the freedom to attain what they want. They have the free desire to achieve or fulfill that wants. They are not bounded by any said doctrines and laws that may limit their desires in achieving a certain human activity. Having these freedom of choice they get what they based on the results they desire.

No, to think that unscrupulous people are more result-oriented than the principled ones would mean that to be successful, one should only bear in mind the ends rather than worrying about the means. It is only that unscrupulous people seem to a majority of people to be more successful as they don't have to expend their energies on the points of principles. On the other hand, the principled ones are worried about the morality of every step they take.
The remedy lies in changing the perception of success and failure in the minds of a majority of people. This way we can ensure the results as well as adherence to principles in the world.

Both unscrupulous and scrupulous people can be result-oriented but in reality perhaps the unscrupulous ones are more likely to get things done.

Result oriented is certainly desirable but anyone could percieve him/herself as a result oriented person and its important to note that whether or not that the person can actually accomplish something is whole different matter.

Being persistent is just as important as having a result-oriented mind set if by 'result-oriented person' we mean someone who is more suited for acheiving quick and/or short-term results.

To be result oriented means you are acting efficiently in your own best interest.

To be unscrupulous means you are cheating the social contract for the sake of self interest.

But cheating the social contract breaks down society, which is not in your self interest.

So unscrupulous behavior can hardly be considered 'results oriented' if after the scam you find your self surrounded by pissed off neighbors & clients willing to ostricize or kill you.

Unscrupulous is just a word you want to make to sound hifalutin and deep-sounding when it ain't. We lowlier people than you want to be can interpret your question: Can we imitate a robber or a thief or a carnaper because what they get is easy money?

the story of "Means to an End"... Is it right to use any means for attaining a specific end? Well just like every other annoying thing in life, it's debatable. I guess you need to strike a balance between principles and the limit of how far you'd go to reach an end.
