well bark makes a point but he was pretty harsh about it... we are smart enough to destroy ourselves, but stupidity will be what does it. remember what spidermans grandfather says in the first spider man movie? "with great power comes great responsibility." we arent using technology responsibly.
the only thing i have to add is, who's to say a comet wont kill us all before we get a chance to? or a gamaray burst. there are many threats out there we should worry about as well as ourselves.
was this a t.v. show or a movie? i am interested in watching it.

human being ..such an intelligent and gifted creature. Human beings are almost built to pure perfection, but just like a person with too much money we do have to much abilites that we do not know how to use right, just like that guy with too much money he doesn't know what to spend it on. We can perform great with the natural world and that is what we are mad for, but we grow up in industrial towns that have barely any morals. This world is built apon science in my opinion. It is an atheist;s world and not a world of a pagan. Pagans were once the dominent religion and pretty much everyone was pagan many years ago. Things then were lived out naturaly.. crisis was still there, but it did not occur as much as it does now. Along came the midival ages and everything natural began to evaporate into the clouds in our minds. We began to reporduce our young into a world filled with systems that were run by royals. classes of the people were unables, seperation of humans and nature was at it's awakening. I can only explain to you that the human was once a cave man.. living off nothing, but what mother nature provided to him. He wasn't that intelligent, but his kind evolved andhe would never have an image of what it is today. Our kind can advance, but should'nt we build our world to suit our needs and the needs or nature? Our needs are overshadowing all others. Selfishness is a disadvantage of a human being and you can see it built into the concret of our pathways, the steel of our building and oversized homes, and the gassey air given to the sky and water by us, Nature gives us life and we give it nothing, but rising temperature and choking abuse, I did not have to whatch that movie to understand the problems..
The ozone layer is already destroyed..
global warming is excelerating at world breaking temperature yearly.
The world has enough room to support our kind because there is still much room not taken up and future problems will also kill of many humans so..
I am sad when i say this..
I'm sorry if you don't boelive my boelifs and i don't want to offend you but...
This is an Atheist's world built apon science which is roting our nature. I boleive in God because the story of my religion Apocolypse is coming to life..

I definately think that we are because we are and i think that it is already underway. We have so little trees in some areas that there is no way we can cut them down or we will run out of oxygen. The ozone layer isalmost to the point of no return and no one is doing anything to help stop it. The summers are just getting hotter and hotter and the winters are getting so wierd. NO snow at all and then when it does snow it is so much it is almost like crisis. Yeah its close buddy and its real. It might not be in our lives but it will come. And it is our fault. We are all oblivious.

I fear so. The problem is that what seems reasonable as individual behavior can be disastrous as collective behavior of the species. Even such animals as beavers can ruin their own habitat in ways that seem very destructive, so humans have no built-in protection against collective stupidity. The tragedies in California are not unconnected to the problems of living in a way desirable to the individual but dangerous collectively. We love the natural forested landscape and therefore build expensive wooden homes in a potential tinderbox. But that's only one example. In protecting national security, a small nuclear club of nations spends a vast fortune in a risky proposition... and dozens of resouce-challenged nations are straining to join that sad "club".
I hope that changing attitudes may turn things around and help people realize that we are one human family in a shrinking global village. Perhaps "hope" (expectation?) is just the last evil hanging among the contents of Pandora's jar, but I have to "hope" for the best outcome and do what little I can to encourage the better choices.

Hell yes, Our stupidity is endless, and didn't you know our planet holds the spot for "planet destined to be destroyed by the dominant species inhabiting it"and has yet to lose it. Seriuosly though after everything we put our planet through, I'm surprised it hasn't crumbled right from under us. There is a reson why so many people have predicted the end of the world. Hopefully the earth will heal its wounds before we completely destroy it. But I doubt it.

So, enable me supply a unifying answer. definite, genuinely you could eat a human mind. Cannibals have certainly been doing (or a minimum of were doing) it for hundreds of years. definite, it almost honestly can furnish you with kuru, which has similarities to loopy cow disease. Kuru change into no longer uncommon between the Fore tribe in New Guinea and, even although cannibalism stopped contained in the 1950's, all and distinctive continues to be coming down with the disease nicely into this decade, indicating that it has a lengthy incubation era. paintings on kuru

Well, you can't call us dumb. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to write you an answer using a computer.
As for destroying ourselves... call it "undesirable side-effects of scientific advancement". There will always be side-effects, and we would never WANT to destroy ourselves.
In the end, it's like taking too many different kinds of medicine. Too many side-effects. Until then we will attempt to find a cure. And of course fail.

There have been 4 'mass extinctions' that we can prove on this plabet (as well as a couple more that we 'suspect'). The last one got the dinosaurs (and about 90% of the other life on the planet).
S.h.i.t happens ☺

This world is survival of the fittest. If the fittest refuse to acknowledge their own self-destruction then sooner or later they will cease to be the fittest.
We would not be the first species to consume ourselves into extinction.

a lot more to add, but I'd stick with this:
to answer your question, could dolphins, mice, monkeys
etc. destroy all their own kind?
You are prejudiced with certain philosophies.
Humans are the only animals SMART enough
to destroy themselves.
Don't confuse hate with ability.
