A news report today says that one in twelve people living in Phoenix, Arizona is an illegal alien. Utterly amazing. Although I have nothing against our major immigrant population, one is compelled to wonder at the social ramifications of such a large group of people from this background. What have its effects on the economy been? On other aspects of life? What are you thinking?

I'm thinking this is a direct reflection of how well big business has screwed over our country by taking advantage of the poverty level of our neighbors to the south. Also demistrates how still racist this country is because it can't wrap its head around that fundemental fact. That there here because big businesses (and some small ones, but that doesn't justify this one bit) wants to save MORE money by paying them WELL under the minium wage. If we took away their ability to do this, then those poor illigals would go back because they'd be better off. BUT since we make it better off for them to get screwed over by our shady caplist system, well here they are! So don't get pissed at them, THIS SHOULD BE us getting pissed at our OWN Big Busness for screwing over other people. But shoot we still let big business like adidas and nike screw over other people in 3rd world countries, so I guess its all part of being the best business you can be!

At this point in time, I can only see one viable solution. We need to create a guest worker program that will legitimize the foreign workers and compel them to pay their fair share of taxes, so that they are supporting and contributing to the country rather than enriching only themselves and the ones who hire them.
