According to the BBC: "The average bed could be home to up to 1.5 million house dust mites."

I find this disgusting I've tried looking but I can't see them on the mattress.

There's nothing new in that information, we've been living with them for years so why should it bother us? These programmes present long known facts as if they are new and something we should worry about. It didn't bother you before you knew so what's the difference?

Dust mites have ALWAYS been there -- just because we know about them now doesn't make them worse than they ever were!

They sell covers for your mattress and pillows that are supposed to keep dust mites away from you. If you are bothered that much by them, buy these - it will ease your mind. They are sold wherever they sell bedding.

If they really bother you and you want to kill them here in what you do. Its easy , just waite until the tempreture out side gets below freezing and take the mattress out on the porch for two or three hours. Easily done at night. They can't live below freezing. But you do reolize that they come fron you dont you. There on your skin, thats how they get into your bed in the first place. Another way to kill them is to spray your bed with Deet, you know like Deep Woods Off .

Yes it is disgusting, you should vacuum your bed once in a while, and it will help a little. You cant see them they are too small to see. Another thing thats gross is that there are not just dust mites, but there is alot of dust mite poo in your bed and furniture!

Brother don't think about the bed mites, but think of thousands of bad virus and bacteria living inside you. They are more deadly i beleive. Trust you immunity system. Else trust your vaccum cleaner or family doctor.

Is it disgusting to them they remove your dead flesh? Or would you prefer waking up in a pile of rotting flesh after a month? Or how bout that there are a million little buggers in your tummy keeping you alive. Or the fact that that hot dog you just ate was boiled alive and is allowed to have a maximum of three rat hairs in it.

I have been alive for many years and never given them much thought. Luckily I do not have any allergies, or things may have been different. I am not going to loose any sleep over the fact. That would worry me.

I couldn't care less. They don't make too much noise in the night and keep me awake.
