Not just the totally rich affected, I feel very very sorry for the people rich or not and for the families who have lost everything as well as those injured or bereaved, and for the fire services risking their lives. My thoughts are with them. I won't tell you how unfair your attitude is because you obviously are envious and can see no further than the end of your young nose. I have a contact on YA who lives only 15 miles away from there, she is sweet and good, I don't care if she is rich or not (I suspect not) I just want her to be safe as well as everyone else and so young lady should you.

The fire is like five minutes from my house. It smells everyday and my throat hurts insanely. There were ashes on my car when I went outside this morning. Not only is there a fire close to me, but there's another one like 20 miles away. It's been awful this past week. I hope the firemen can save the homes and this all ends! It was def. arsonist!

Not everyone in Cali is rich BTW... The canyon is filled with people with horses and other animals who aren't rich. They are not summer homes. Just because someone lives in Cali doesn't mean they are not struggling. You probably shouldn't watch THE OC or Laguna Beach because those shows create a bad stereotype.

I'm not rich at all. Never have been, I wish I were, but it's not so!

Also, these people can't live in their homes until they are rebuilt. Even if they have money, it's still terribly sad. Think of the Holidays. They won't be in their homes. I wish them all the best

Trust me, the homes burnt down aren't just the ones of the rich. Many people I know have lost their homes, and they are regular people. They are staying with family right now, or in high school gyms. No kidding.
I hate these fires!
I am surrounded by smoke, and I can't go outside for long because it makes me sick. The fires closest to me are still burning, and are only 10% and 40% contained.
But I am very thankful that I still have my house, and that my family is safe.

"humanian"? is that a word? it's not on dictionary.com. anyway, i have to say that, yes, a lot of those homes belonged to rich folk who probably won't have an incredibly tough time buying another, but that's not the case for all of the victims. No one's expecting you to be bawling your eyes out for these people, but how could you not feel sympathy for these thousands of displaced people; for the families of those who died in the flames? Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter how terribly you feel about the situation; it doesn't make a difference if you're not personally contributing in some way to help out, right?

I'm in the middle of this fire and Your statement is completely false..You are only seeing what..the THREE whole reports of rich peoples houses burn down....Rich people can afford to go to hotels or relatives...so how do you explain all those people evacuated to the statidums and Red Cross...There is 1 Million people here who have been evacuated and about 1,000 homes lost. I am just saying..Don't assume something when you don't have a clue!

It' sad to see people displaced from their homes whether wealthy or poor ...both the wealthy and the poor have family photos, heirlooms and in some of the cases pets that can not be replaced by any means a horrible loss that both suffer equally.

I live near the fire... the smoke and ashes are KILLING me! I can't go outside for too long... anyways, the fire is gone in my area (but not the smoke...) so we're safe for now. Luckily, I didn't lose my family or house. That would be so sad. Thanks for your sympathy. I'm praying for those help put out the fire and those who lost friends and famuly members...

I feel sorry for the people who live in California too. Some of my friends live there and I'm really worried about them...

I live just south of L.A. The air's been pretty ashy, and all sports/P.E. have been cancelled even here, where the fire hasn't come. I feel sorry for all the people around the fires, because even if they are all rich, houses cost a lot of money! I'd feel even sorrier if I actually knew anybody around the fires, but thankfully, I don't.

If you think all the people were "rich people who had summer homes" as you said, you are mistaken. If you don't want to sound cruel, you have failed.
