These POS animals killed this little boy's miniature horse that was given to him by the Make-A-Wish foundation. These animals have no reason to live, it's time to ban these mongrels and exterminate them! Pit bulls have no reason for existing, they don't even make good guard dogs.

I might even write a letter to my congressman.

Hey,
Sorry, but I'm going to jump on the bandwagon here. You are angry about a horse, and you want to exterminate a breed? That's ridiculous! Humans who kill people end up with parole sometimes. Pits don't make good guard dogs, because they weren't bred to be guard dogs. Have you seen the papers on the dog that killed the horse? If you haven't, you don't know if it was a pit bull terrier anyway. I feel for the child, but your zeal is misplaced.

More people die each year due coconuts falling from trees than from pit bull attacks. Should we exterminate coconut trees? 30 times more people are injured in the US each year while playing baseball than are injured by pit bulls. Should we ban baseball?

Any time anybody is hurt by a dog it's terrible, but the problem has been blown way out of proportion by the media. The Pit Bull has the highest rate of abusive owners due to it's image as a "tough guys" dog. In the 80's the rottweiler held that honor and at that time it was the dog that had the highest amount of fatal dog attacks. This would suggest that the problem is not the breed, but the owners and the type of owners that gravitate towards the pit bull breed.

You obviosly have never been anywhere around a pitbull that was raised crrectly. Any and all dogs bigger than Benji can be raised to be mean and attack others. They are some of the most loveable dogs one could ever ask for if they are cared for. If the dogs attacked the mini horse the owner of the dogs bears the responsibility, not the breed of the dog. Just like when that pit bull chewed some infants toes off, most likely the owner did not feed them for quite some time. Please do not try and waste tax dollars on a cause that ultimatly does not improve things for the country. Their are cities(Denver comes to mind) in the US that have banned these great dogs, feel free to move to them

Dude sorry to hear that but get over your self, Pit Bulls when raised by people who have respect for life and who do mistreat them turn out to be very good loyal companions. My friend has a Pit that is almost a yr old and the dog is more goofy than a killer look I could raise my Maltese to be a trained ankle bitter. Go ahead waste some tax $$$ its your 41 cents.

I've lived next door to two neighbors with pit bulls. One badly mauled a little girl that it knew very well and had never once teased or abused it. The other suddenly killed the dog it grew up with for no reason.
Both dogs were not mistreated or abused in any way, and the owners in no way trained them to attack. (I.e, it had NOTHING to do with the owners!!!)
These dogs are fine until they snap one day - then somebody gets badly hurt.
A normal dog bites you to warn or intimidate you, only a pit bull bites to kill. Once they start to attack they cannot stop like a normal dog.
They need to be banned, and euthenized. Sorry, but you can talk to the sweet little girl with 110 stitches if you disagree. (Of course the owner immediately moved and disappeared with his dog the minute it happened.)

Most of the time, I would say that it's not the fault of the animal. However, in this case, I have to agree that allowing dogs like pit bulls coexist with us is the wrong thing to do. Pit bulls have this weird blood lust. Many people I know who have small kids own them. Imagine what will happen if the little kid pulls its tail. The result won't be pretty. While I'm not for the extermination of the pit bulls, I think they should be treated more like ferocious animals instead of dogs. We should just let them live outside of our societies.

I agree pit bulls are a menace, and the harm they cause outweighs anyone's right to own one. The trick is to outlaw breeding and selling them - then they would be gone in one generation, and nobody has to give up their dogs. But since breeds of dog are essentially a man-made creature, and this one has hurt so many people, it has to go. I'd get rid of Rottweilers, too.

it's funny, you rarely ever see another dog that kills a person... but pit bulls seem to pop up quite a bit...

and it's always the same old story... "He was harmless and never hurt a flea... then one day he just snapped and killed my three year old"...

I don't get why anyone would ever want to take that chance?

when are people gonna wake up and realize that the problem is not the dog breed but the person who raises the dog
I have had a lot of good dogs over the years including pits, rotts, dobie's, shepards, and have never had a vicious dog
not a single one of them killed anyone or anyone's little horse
same goes for my firearms
ted kennedys car has killed more people than my dogs
