The sum of 3 consecutive odd numbers is 39.
x+(x+2)+(x+4)=39

The Perimeter of a rectangle is 600. The length of the rectangle is 2 more than 3 times the width.
2(w+(3w+2))=600

t+2t=12

3 times the first of three consecutive numbers is 4 more than 2 times the second.

1. Odd numbers are 1,3,5,7,9... Notice that each number increases by 2

Let x = lowest number
Then x+2 = second number in sequence
x+4 = third number

x+x+2+x+4 = 39

2. Let x=width
Then 2+3x= length
The formula for Perimeter of a rectangle is P=2L+2W
So 600 = 2(2+3x) + 2x

3. Let x= # of lettuce heads
Then 2x=# of tomatoes
x+2x=12

4. Let x=first number
Then x+1 = second number
x+2 = third number

3x = 4 + 2 (x+1)

1) n + (n+2) + (n+4) = 39
2) P = l*w = 600, l = 3w + 2, therefore, (3w+2)*w = 600.
3) lettuce heads = L, tomatoes = T, T = 2L, and L + T = 12, so 3L =T, or 1.5T = 12.

4) 3n = [2(n+1)]+4

The sum of 3 consecutive odd numbers is 39.

x = 2n+1

(2n+1) + (2n+3) +(2n+5) = 39

..................

2L + 2W = 600
L = 3W +2

.........
T + L = 12
T = 2L

..........

3*(n) = 2(n+1) + 4
