Our sun will eventually exhaust it's fuel and become a red giant. It will envelope the area that the Earth currently occupies, and vaporize it.

But don't worry, the radiation and heat will have long ago exterminated every living thing on Earth.

Of course, there is also the slight chance that a cosmic collision could also destroy the planet. There is evidence that the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter is the remanants of a lost planet that was destroyed during a collision.

If you know for how long this world has been here ,then multiply it by 'N' times and then wait for it's end.(N is any number greater than the the life of earth but lesser than infinity).'HOW' part shall be known a few years/months before date of it's end.In the meanwhile if you are not very busy,try to live it up and enjoy every moment.Since we all have just one World between us,do share it with others.

I am truly SHOCKED no other responses acknowledged that our world is on the brink of World War III.
1.Turkey's ready to invade the northern border of Iraq to eliminate Kurdish rebels. This will certainly stir up a hornet's nest.
2.Russia and Iran have become allies.
3.Putin (the president of Russia, in case you don't know who he is) is comparing the US missiles in Poland to the Cuban Missle Crisis. Bush claims they are directed at Iran, not Russia. I guess he missed the Russia-Iran pact this past week.
4.Things are really heating up in Pakistan, destabilizing the country.
5.The US is losing in Afghanistan AND Iraq.
6. The latest uprisings in Burma (The evil government there are the ones who call it "Myanmar").
7. In Africa, there are severe problems in Eritrea, Somalia, The Sudan (particularly in Darfur), Uganda, Liberia, Angola, and the most recent--- Nigeria.
8. Tamil rebels in Sri Lanka.
9. Let's not forget our buddies North Korea and Venezuela, either.
10. Just wait until Al Qaida gets nukes.
